Aligning with Beijing's hosting of the 2008 Summer Olympics, The One Man Olympics is based on the true story of China's first Olympic athlete, sprinter Liu Changchun. The film chronicles his amazing journey from a wartorn China to the United States to compete in the 1932 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles. After rejecting the offer to represent the Japanese puppet state of Manchukuo, Liu endured great dangers and sacrifices, including having to leave behind his family and run from enemy troops, in order to represent China at the 10th Olympic Games, one man carrying the dreams and pride of 400 million. Li Zhaolin takes the heroic leading role in this inspiring sports film and biopic from Jasmine Women director Hou Yong, who is also well known as the cinematographer for Fifth Generation classics like The Blue Kite, The Horse Thief, and Not One Less. The One Man Olympics also co-stars acclaimed actor Hu Jun and David Wu.
