Anita and Tony meet again in Shanghai on the eve of the Pacific War. Tony is an underground agent for the Chinese government. Anita is a popular songstress. Among her many dmirers in Noguchi, an anti-war Japanese officer. Tony and Anita renew their love and Anita is pregnant. But they quarrel and break up. Tony is ambushed and wounded.
