As a stare affair, a marriage between Prince Karl of Karlsburg and Princess Johanaa of North Hausen has been arranged. To acquire warmth and charm, Karl enrols himself to Heidelberg University as a student prince, learning pleasure of life. While there, he meets Kathie the waitress and soon they fall for each other. The King's illness brings Karl back to the palace. When Karl after succeeding King meets Kathie again, he is on his way to marry Johanna. Karl is back to Heidelberg as promised, but it is only a dream as it should be...
