Late at night Kazue drives alone on a mountain road when she hits something with her car. Stopping in a panic, she gets out to check what happened, and sees a naked girl with long hair falling over her face. The girl has a birthmark just below her left eye and looks familiar. Before Kazue can ask her name or if she is ok, the girl runs away. Kazue chases her through the woods, finally arriving at a mansion. Entering the mansion, she discovers a different girl wrapped in a sleeping bag and on the verge of death. Her name is Yukiko. Kazue rushes Yukiko to the clinic where she works.
One year later, Yukiko has been fully restored to health, but all recollection of her life before Kazue rescued her has vanished. There has been no report of a missing person matching her description, so she lives at the clinic. She and Kazue have become friends.
