One day, Takashi, a primary school boy who found a railway pass on the station platform, is suddenly sentenced to death by a mysterious woman in black. "Whoever picks up this railway pass up will die." Takashi worriedly tells Noriko, his classmate and her elder sister Nana, just before he suddenly disappears. Nana is a serious, hard working student, but she doesn't have many friends. She is also having problems. Her father is away and her mother is in hospital with heart disease. She still hasn't decided what to do after graduation because she is so concerned about her little sister. By contrast, her classmate Kanae seems to have a very easy going life. She is always hanging out with her friends and having fun.
Meanwhile, a series of mysterious incidents have happened on the railway tracks at Mizunashi station. A young train driver, Shunichi Kuga, had already spotted several times, a woman laying on the tracks, he would stop the train to confirm, but by the time he got there, it has always disappeared. After the same thing happened four times in a row, Shunichi is transferred to another division.
