The States of Chiu and Cho are vieing for power. The General of Chiu, Ling Wan-ngan, opts for war. His fiancee, Ho Heung-lan, is also knowledgeable in military strategy, so the King of Chiu makes her Prime Minister. General Ling is offended. Before the army departs, Heung-lan gets drunk during the King's feast. She mistakes the King for the General and shows her affection for him. General Ling is infuriated and believes that they are involved in an affair. The King has to demonstrate his innocence by adopting Heung-lan as his sister. The State of Cho mobilises a strong army, intending to grab the famous Wo Jade from Heung-lan. She gains the upper hand by meeting the Queen Dowager of Cho, who is fascinated by Heung-lan's civil and military capabilities, and demands the retreat of the Cho army. Without the loss of one soldier, Heung-lan returns in triumph. The King of Chiu welcomes her. General Ling and his mother are upset. The princess consoles them both and promises to marry Ling. However, she turns insolent and even insults Ling's mother on the wedding day. After quarrelling with Ling, she asks her brother, the King, for justice. Ling is allowed to marry two women. Meanwhile, Heung-lan is also made Prime Minister by the State of Cho, so the two live in permanent peace.
